Lukaku Brothers Report Extortion After Father’s Death
Footballers Romelu and Jordan Lukaku have reported feeling “extorted” by members of their family in the Democratic Republic of Congo, in relation to the repatriation process of their father, Roger Lukaku, who recently passed away. The siblings, through a joint statement published on Instagram, announced that the funeral planned in Brussels will not take place as planned due to disagreements with some family members.Romelu, Napoli’s striker, and Jordan, defender for Turkish side Adanaspor, expressed their regret at not being able to say goodbye to their father as they wished. The soccer players stated they felt “extorted” by some family members, which prevents them from honoring their father in the way they had planned.We had planned to organize the funeral this Friday. However, due to certain decisions made in Kinshasa, it will not take place in Belgium. Our father passed away on September 28th and, as brothers, we did everything possible to repatriate his body to Belgium.
