Cam Ward Impresses Teammates at Titans
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward is already making his mark on his teammates. The rookies reported to the facilities on Thursday before hitting the field this weekend.Ward has begun the process of getting to know everyone in the building, just as he did in his previous stops at Incarnate Word, Washington State, and Miami.
It’s more about me opening up to my new teammates. They have the opportunity to get to know me. I already know X [Xavier Restrepo] and have a connection with him. I have to connect pieces with my other guys.

Ward is aggressively attacking the playbook, which he has had for a month, and working to develop chemistry with the rookie receivers.
Titans rookie tight end Gunnar Helm said Ward and the young group arrive at the facility early in the morning to watch film together.
He’s a great leader. He’s super easy to talk to, super easy to connect with, super easy to communicate with on the field.

Saturday’s practice was the first time local media saw Ward on the field. It didn’t take long for Ward to reveal his leadership qualities. Ward and rookie receiver Elic Ayomanor failed to connect on an in route during a practice rep.
The ball was a bit low and behind Ayomanor, causing the pass to fall incomplete despite hitting his hands. Ward immediately signaled Ayomanor to come back and get another rep, which resulted in a clean connection.
You have to do it while it’s hot, so if there’s something wrong with the repetition, you just have to repeat it and get it right. He throws the ball very fast, which is great and something he has to get used to.

Titans coach Brian Callahan said leadership comes naturally to Ward. Callahan expects it to show more as Ward gets more comfortable in his new surroundings. Judging by the reaction of his rookie teammates, Ward has gotten off to a good start.
Cam has been great working with us receivers. He is a very good leader and has that presence on the field and throws the ball very well.

Ward will meet with the fellow veterans when they arrive at the building on Monday.
