In a race where the Fords proved to be the fastest at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Ryan Blaney took the victory in the opening of the second round of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. Blaney, driving his number 12 Mustang, led 116 laps, including the last 39. Despite the intense pressure exerted by Josh Berry, who got dangerously close in the final laps, Blaney managed to hold the first position and cross the finish line. Blaney secured his third win of the season and the sixteenth of his career with a 0.937-second lead.
This victory marks a significant milestone for Blaney, who is seeking to reach the championship final for the third consecutive year, securing a place in the next round of the playoffs. They were probably the 20 hardest laps I’ve driven. I was trying to manage my pace and pull away from Josh a bit, but then he really started to close in. I had to give it my all to keep him at bay, trying different lines. It was a good, clean race. I appreciate Josh for not pushing me when he could have.

Joey Logano, who led the most laps, finished in fourth place, followed by Chase Elliott in fifth. The event also witnessed an incident between Joe Gibbs Racing teammates. Denny Hamlin and Ty Gibbs were involved in a crash that generated controversy and questions about the treatment within the team. The next race of the second round of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs will be held at Kansas Speedway. It was an incredible day. My respects to Ryan at the end. All our cars were very strong, and Ryan did a great job there. Honestly, I was surprised to be able to keep him at bay at the end.
