Jonah Gadjovich Extends Contract with the Panthers
Forward Jonah Gadjovich and the Florida Panthers have reached an agreement on a two-year contract extension for $1.8 million. This agreement ensures his stay with the team until the 2027-28 season. Gadjovich has proven his worth with six goals and three assists in 84 games over three seasons with the Panthers. In addition, he scored two goals, one of them crucial against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the seventh game of last season’s playoff series, and one assist.The extension announcement coincided with Gadjovich’s 27th birthday. In the first three games of this season, Gadjovich has recorded an assist and leads the team with 11 hits. Throughout his career, Gadjovich has accumulated 19 points in 163 games with the Florida, San Jose, and Vancouver teams. He was selected in the second round of the 2017 NHL draft by Vancouver, 55th overall. During his time with the Panthers, Gadjovich averages 19.7 hits per 60 minutes, the best on the team. Gadjovich, who could have been an unrestricted free agent after the season, is the eleventh forward the Panthers have under contract for next season, joining Aleksander Barkov, Matthew Tkachuk, Sam Reinhart, Sam Bennett, Carter Verhaeghe, Brad Marchand, Anton Lundell, Evan Rodrigues, Eetu Luostarinen and Jesper Boqvist. A twelfth forward, Mackie Samoskevich, who could become a restricted free agent, may also get a new contract later this season.Jonah has become a key piece in our locker room and a strong contributor to our group on the ice.
