UNITED STATES – Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr expressed his regret after the loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, highlighting the absence of Stephen Curry due to injury. Kerr stated that the team is in need of “finding a new formula” to compete without their star point guard.

In a press conference after the game, Kerr commented on the impact of Curry’s absence:

We had found a formula in the last few months that was working very well for us, but without ‘Steph’ that formula no longer works and we have to find a new one.

The Timberwolves won with a score of 117-93 in the second game of the series, tying the series at 1-1.

Kerr made unusual rotations, using 14 players in the first half of the game. He explained that Curry’s absence triggered a series of changes in the team.

The absence of ‘Steph’ generates a domino effect: that’s why Trayce (Jackson-Davis) played tonight, because we need scoring, we need someone to finish plays. The same with JK (Jonathan Kuminga).

Looking ahead to the third game, Kerr pointed out the importance of defining the team’s rotation.

Looking ahead to the third game, we have to define what our rotation will be. Because it’s not as simple as saying ‘Steph is out, we put in another one and that’s it’.

Curry suffered a hamstring strain in the first game of the series and his return is expected to be, at a minimum, for the fifth game.
