Alex De Minaur Reaches 50 Wins in the Season

In a standout performance at the Shanghai Masters, Alex De Minaur, seeded number seven, became the third player of the season to reach 50 wins on the circuit. De Minaur achieved this feat after defeating Nuno Borges with a score of 7-5 and 6-2. The Australian tennis player displayed a dominant game, connecting 19 winning shots in a match that lasted one hour and 47 minutes, securing his place in the quarterfinals of a Masters 1000 for the seventh time in his career. Only Carlos Alcaraz, with 67 victories, and Taylor Fritz, also with 50, had previously reached the mark of 50 victories in 2025. In his most successful previous season, De Minaur accumulated 47 wins and two titles. In the next round, De Minaur will face Daniil Medvedev, who, seeded number 16, defeated Learner Tien with scores of 7-6 (6), 6-7 (1) and 6-4.

In addition, Felix Auger-Aliassime, seeded number 12, eliminated Lorenzo Musetti, eighth seed, with a score of 6-4 and 6-2. Auger-Aliassime will face Arthur Rinderknech in the quarterfinals, who previously defeated Jiri Lehecka, seeded number 15, with a result of 6-3 and 7-6 (5).
