Aaron Judge Leads Yankees’ Comeback to Avoid Elimination

In an epic performance, Aaron Judge hit a crucial home run and drove in four runs, leading the New York Yankees in a spectacular comeback against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Yankees, who were in a critical situation, managed to recover from a five-run deficit to win Game 3 of the American League Division Series by 9-6.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit a home run that put his team ahead in the fifth inning, but the Yankees took advantage of two Toronto errors to score eight unanswered runs. With this victory, the series score is reduced to 2-1, with Game 4 scheduled for Wednesday night in the Bronx.

Judge had a stellar night, batting 3 for 4 with an intentional walk and scoring three runs. In addition, he made crucial defensive plays and ran with determination, while the fans chanted “MVP! MVP!”. After some struggles in previous postseasons, Judge has proven his worth in this series, with a .636 average (7 for 11) with five RBIs and three walks.

New York starting pitcher Carlos Rodon allowed six runs and six hits in 2⅔ innings. However, five Yankees relievers combined to pitch 6¼ scoreless innings. Tim Hill got four outs to secure the win, and David Bednar worked 1¾ innings to earn the save, leading the Yankees to a 3-0 record in elimination games this postseason.

This was the Yankees’ biggest comeback in an elimination game, and the second-biggest in any postseason game.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a two-run homer in the early innings, and Ernie Clement had four hits for the Blue Jays, champions of the American League East Division, who squandered a great opportunity to eliminate the Yankees in their attempt to reach the American League Championship Series for the first time since 2016.
