Predators and Luke Evangelista Agree to Two-Year Contract
The Nashville Predators and forward Luke Evangelista have finalized a two-year contract agreement, according to sources. This agreement ends the last dispute between restricted free agents before the start of the NHL season. The contract has an average annual value of $3 million. Upon completion of this contract, Evangelista will become a restricted free agent again. Evangelista, 23 years old, is preparing for his fourth season in the NHL, after being selected 42nd overall by Nashville in 2020. In the 2024-25 season, he recorded 10 goals and 22 assists in 68 games, with an average ice time of 13:52 and a +/- of -2. The negotiation between Evangelista and the Predators was prolonged, generating some tension. The two parties exchanged offers for months, considering a three-year extension before finally agreeing to the two-year contract.Nashville’s general manager, Barry Trotz, recently stated that he had no intention of trading Evangelista and considers him part of a “great young group” of players on the Predators.
