Unrivaled, the Women’s 3×3 Basketball League, Arrives in Philadelphia
The prestigious women’s 3×3 basketball league, led by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, has announced an exciting stop in Philadelphia for its second season. The event, which will take place on January 30, 2026, at the Xfinity Mobile Arena, home of the NBA’s 76ers and the NHL’s Flyers, promises two exciting matches between four teams, following the league’s standard format. The participating teams will be announced in November, when the complete Unrivaled schedule is published. This stop, described as the first “official stop” of the league, will mark the return of professional women’s basketball to Philadelphia since 1998.The main headquarters of Unrivaled will remain Wayfair Arena, the venue with a capacity for 850 spectators in Miami, where the matches of its inaugural season were played, which ended in March. This is part of Unrivaled’s strategy to ensure long-term sustainability, driven in part by its fan engagement strategies. The league has announced its expansion from six to eight teams and has secured greater investment, raising its valuation to $340 million before its second season. Numerous WNBA stars have confirmed their return for the second season, including Collier, Stewart, three-time Olympic gold medalist Brittney Griner, and Phoenix Mercury star Alyssa Thomas. Among the new additions for this season are Paige Bueckers, WNBA Rookie of the Year in 2025, Olympic gold medalist and WNBA champion Kelsey Plum, and Washington Mystics standout rookie Sonia Citron. The league announced on Wednesday that 46 of the 48 roster spots have already been filled, which has generated excitement among fans about which stars will complete the team. Speculation on social media has been intense, focusing on Indiana Fever’s base, Caitlin Clark, who did not participate in the inaugural season, and Chicago Sky’s forward, Angel Reese, who helped Rose BC win the league’s first championship. Neither of them has confirmed their participation yet. This innovative league is intended to elevate the women’s basketball ecosystem as a whole, and we are honored that Philadelphia has been chosen as its first tour stop.
Wanda Sykes, Unrivaled investor
We are in productive negotiations with some players who need a little more time, and we are dedicated to giving our athletes the space to make important decisions on their own terms. That means we still have two roster spots, and we are eager to share who will fill them soon.
