Eagles Surprise with Unexpected Plays in Victory Against the Buccaneers

In an exciting Sunday encounter, the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a score of 31-25. The Philadelphia team demonstrated that their “tush push” strategy is much more than a simple push play, surprising everyone with two ‘quarterback sneak’ fakes that resulted in key scores.

It’s an exciting play. It makes it pretty exciting, right?

The first variation of this strategy was presented midway through the first quarter. Quarterback Jalen Hurts, adopting an athletic stance under center as if he were going to execute a ‘sneak’, instead threw an underneath pass to his tight end Dallas Goedert, who, escorted by a group of blockers, managed to reach the end zone.

I was very happy that he called. I think we brought it in about four years ago, maybe five, when the staff first arrived, and it worked perfectly.

In the third quarter, with a third and one yard to go from the Buccaneers’ 6-yard line, the Eagles lined up in a “tush push” formation. However, this time, Hurts handed the ball to Saquon Barkley, who ran outside and entered the end zone untouched.

Great call by offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. It’s an answer we have, and it will definitely put teams on… teams are also aware of it now.

The play has been the subject of debate, with proposals to ban it. Despite this, coach Sirianni highlighted the popularity of the play and its impact on the game. Sirianni even mentioned seeing a Pepsi commercial featuring the “tush push” while the team was heading to the stadium.

It seems like the fans like the play, and it was pretty exciting today to get a touchdown pass from it, or two runs that come from it, to make that play what it is.
