Carlos Alcaraz Headlines the Miami Invitational at loanDepot Park
The world’s number one tennis player, Carlos Alcaraz, will lead the Miami Invitational, a one-day exhibition event to be held this year at loanDepot Park, the Marlins’ stadium. The event, scheduled for December 8, will mark the first time a tennis event is held at the Marlins stadium. In addition to Alcaraz, the Miami Invitational will feature the participation of Joao Fonseca, ranked number 42, Amanda Anisimova and Emma Raducanu, ranked 4 and 33 respectively. The event will include two singles matches, each best-of-three sets, with a 10-point tiebreak to decide the third set. In one of the matches, Anisimova, US Open and Wimbledon finalist this year, will face Raducanu, 2021 US Open champion. Subsequently, Alcaraz, winner of six Grand Slam titles, will face Fonseca, 19 years old and the number one tennis player in Brazil, in the first match between the two.Featuring two of the brightest female stars like Anisimova and Raducanu, along with the first encounter between Alcaraz and Fonseca, should result in an electrifying night for tennis fans.
