PFL Announces Stellar Card in Lyon, France
The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has confirmed two title fights to headline an event on December 13 in Lyon, France, promising a night full of action for mixed martial arts fans.
Bellator MMA’s former light heavyweight champion, Vadim Nemkov (19-2), will face the winner of the 2024 PFL Tournament, Renan Ferreira (13-4), in the main event to be held at the LDLC Arena.
In addition, Cris Cyborg (28-2) will compete against Sara Collins (6-0) for the PFL women’s featherweight title. Both championships are currently vacant, which adds an extra element of excitement to the evening.
The PFL has yet to reveal specific plans for heavyweight superstar Francis Ngannou (18-3), who signed with the promotion in 2023 and has only participated in one fight.
Ngannou focused on boxing in 2023, losing high-profile fights against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. He returned to MMA in October 2024, defeating Ferreira by technical knockout in the first round, but hasn’t competed since then. The 39-year-old Cameroonian fighter could face the winner of the fight announced in December, especially if it’s Nemkov, whom he has never fought.
Cyborg, 40 years old, is undoubtedly the most recognized name at this event. The former UFC champion and long-time Bellator MMA champion made her PFL debut in October 2024, further solidifying herself as one of the best female fighters in the world by defeating PFL two-division champion Larissa Pacheco by unanimous decision.
In 2025, Cyborg remained active in boxing, achieving two knockout victories in March and another in May. She will face Collins, a relatively unknown rival who hasn’t fought in over a year, but who is coming off a first-round submission victory against Leah McCourt.
