The legendary Deion Sanders, a recognized member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and current head coach of Colorado, has generated anticipation by predicting the debut of his son, Shedeur Sanders, as a starter for the Cleveland Browns during the upcoming season.
Deion Sanders Prediction
During an interview on the popular podcast “New Heights”, hosted by Jason and Travis Kelce, Deion was asked about the advice he would give to his son. “Be patient and prepare,” Sanders responded. “You must be ready when the time comes. And that time is near. I have a hunch about when it will happen. He will have his chance this year.”
Be patient and prepare yourself. You must be ready when the time comes. And that time is near.
Sanders also confirmed a previous report about his son’s decision not to be selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2025 NFL draft. In addition, he revealed that the Philadelphia Eagles contacted him during the third day of the draft.
Shedeur’s strategy, according to his father, was based on seeking playing opportunities. Deion explained that his son did not want to be Lamar Jackson’s backup at the Ravens, preferring an environment where he could demonstrate his talent.
Instead of Shedeur, the Ravens selected offensive lineman Carson Vinson, and the Browns seized the opportunity to secure Shedeur Sanders in the draft.
Currently, Shedeur is in the third position on the Browns’ quarterback list, behind Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel.
After the Browns’ defeat to the Ravens in Week 2, Shedeur Sanders commented: “I am focused on the present and on how to improve.”
The Browns, with a 1-2 record, secured their first win of the season against the Green Bay Packers. However, starting quarterback Joe Flacco has struggled, raising questions about the team’s performance.
Despite this, coach Kevin Stefanski has confirmed that Flacco will be the starter in the next game against the Detroit Lions.
