Mike Hilton Bolsters the Colts’ Defense
Free agent cornerback Mike Hilton has signed with the Indianapolis Colts, according to sources close to the team. This addition comes one day after slot cornerback Kenny Moore II suffered a calf injury.
Hilton will reunite with Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who was his defensive coordinator for four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, where Hilton served as the primary slot cornerback.
Moore recorded an interception that resulted in a pick-six against Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward in the Colts’ 41-20 victory on Sunday. However, Moore had to leave the game due to his injury, which occurred approximately 12 minutes after his touchdown.
The Colts, undefeated with a 3-0 record, currently lead the AFC South standings.
Hilton, 31, was in training camp with the Miami Dolphins, but was cut last month when the team reduced its roster to 53 players.
In the previous season, Hilton started in 10 of his 16 appearances with Cincinnati, achieving an interception and defending five passes.
Throughout his career, Hilton has accumulated 13 interceptions, 56 passes defended, and 520 tackles. His career also includes four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
