Classic PSG vs. Marseille Postponed Due to Storms, Coinciding with the Ballon d’Or Ceremony
The expected classic between Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille has been rescheduled for Monday night due to the strong storms forecast.
This modification to the calendar directly coincides with the Ballon d’Or ceremony, which will be held at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. Several of PSG’s most prominent stars are expected to receive awards at this event.
Among the PSG players nominated is Ousmane Dembélé, who is one of the main contenders for the men’s Ballon d’Or. In addition to Dembélé, nine other PSG players have also been nominated.
Due to the rescheduling of the match, Dembélé and other PSG players will have to choose between attending the sporting event in Marseille or participating in the Ballon d’Or ceremony.

Dembélé and his teammate, Désiré Doué, were not included in coach Luis Enrique’s squad for the match against Marseille due to injuries.
Heavy storms are expected on Sunday in the French region of Bouches-du-Rhône, which is under orange alert for rain, floods and thunderstorms.
Last year, the Ballon d’Or ceremony was marred by the absence of Real Madrid, then European champions, because Vinícius Júnior was not awarded the main prize, which went to Rodri of Manchester City.
This year’s edition could face a similar situation, although for different reasons. PSG, who won the Champions League in May and the European Super Cup in August, will be affected by the coincidence of their match with the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
