Senne Lammens’ Brother Questions His Signing for Manchester United

The newcomer to Manchester United, Senne Lammens, has generated debate even in his closest circle. His brother, Tom Lammens, expressed doubts about the goalkeeper’s decision to join the Old Trafford club, suggesting that he might have had more opportunities to compete for titles if he had opted for Galatasaray. Lammens joined United on the last day of the transfer window in a deal that amounted to 21 million euros plus add-ons. However, Tom Lammens, a player for Borsbeek, a team in a lower Belgian league, was not enthusiastic about the transfer of the Belgian youth international.

“There is a lot of quality, you play for titles there [at Galatasaray], and Senne could perhaps make his mark immediately in the Champions League,” commented Tom.

Tom added that he was initially skeptical about the signing for United, because many players could not reach their full potential due to the pressure. Lammens’ brother added that in the end, the decision was Senne’s. United gave him the best feeling. In part, because Tony Coton, United’s goalkeeper scout, had been following him for almost a year and was very convinced of his qualities.
