Tatiana Suárez, after her recent performance, could be closer to a new opportunity for the UFC strawweight championship. Her performance, although not favorable in her title fight in February, has allowed her to climb in the division’s ranking. Seven months ago, Suárez faced Zhang Weili in a title fight, arriving undefeated after dominating her opponents with her wrestling. However, Weili successfully defended her title and will now compete at flyweight. The 115-pound title became vacant, and after Virna Jandiroba and Mackenzie Dern compete on October 25, the winner could be next to challenge the champion. Tatiana Suárez, with her victory over Amanda Lemos at the UFC Fight Night, has climbed the rankings, surpassing Lemos and securing fourth place. The winner of Saturday’s main event, Diego Lopes, remains in third place in featherweight, because the ranked fighter just above him, Movsar Evloev, previously defeated him. In addition, other changes were made to the rankings due to the requirement that fighters compete in the last year or have a scheduled fight. Dan Hooker, Arnold Allen, and Norma Dumont have been removed from the rankings due to inactivity.
