Ronny Rodríguez and Aneury Tavárez Report to the Training of the Águilas Cibaeñas

SANTIAGO – Veteran players Ronny Rodríguez and Aneury Tavárez, established figures in Dominican baseball, showed up this Tuesday for the training sessions of the Águilas Cibaeñas at the Cibao Stadium.

For these players, moving around the stadium is like being at home, as they have defended the yellow uniform of the 22-time national champions in multiple seasons. Rodríguez and Tavárez began their day with calisthenics exercises, followed by short runs to loosen their legs. Ronny practiced fielding at third base, while Tavárez focused on catching fly balls in the outfield.

In batting practice, Rodríguez, a right-handed hitter, and Tavárez, a left-handed hitter, showed they were in excellent form, connecting solid lines. “We came to make the team and help the Eagles win their 23rd crown,” both players expressed, who looked in optimal physical condition.

Ronny Rodríguez, known as “El Felino”, debuted in the LIDOM with the Estrellas Orientales in the 2011-2012 season. He was acquired by the Águilas in the 2013-2014 campaign, quickly earning the affection of the fans. He played with the Toros del Este in 2024 and 2025.

In his career in Dominican baseball, mainly with the Águilas Cibaeñas, Rodríguez has participated in 330 games, accumulating 1,103 at-bats, 272 hits and a .247 average. In addition, he has hit 18 home runs, 9 triples, 43 doubles, driven in 113 runs and scored 125, with 22 stolen bases in 28 attempts.

Aneury Tavárez also began his career in the winter league with the Estrellas in the 2013-2014 season and joined the Águilas in the 2020-2021 campaign, being part of the team that conquered the number 22 crown. Subsequently, he played with the Toros in 2024 and 2025. Tavárez has participated in 318 games in the LIDOM, with 883 at-bats, 238 hits and a .270 average. His statistics include 9 home runs and 9 triples, with 84 RBIs, 113 runs scored and 49 stolen bases in 66 attempts.

The training will continue this Wednesday at 9:00 in the morning.
