Usyk will play charity football with legends: Promotion of his foundation!
The world heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk, will participate in a charity football match in Portugal. The “Legends Charity Game” event will take place on September 15th at the Estádio José Alvalade, in Lisbon. This match will feature the participation of former Premier League stars, including Edwin van der Sar, Petr Cech, John Terry, and Michael Owen. The presence of Carles Puyol, Alessandro Del Piero, Henrik Larsson, Cafu, Roberto Carlos and Kaká is also expected. When Oleksandr Usyk asks to play, the answer is yes. Usyk will take this opportunity to promote the Usyk Foundation, his charity that provides support to Ukrainian communities and the Ukrainian army. Usyk is expected to play at least the first 10 minutes of the match, being closely monitored as he regains his physical form after his victory over Daniel Dubois in July. After defeating Dubois, Usyk received a 90-day medical extension from the WBO. This gives you more time to decide on your next move.

Usyk has not been prescribed bed rest; he is allowed to participate in charity sporting events and perform moderate physical activity.

Sergey Lapin, CEO of Usyk’s team
Usyk presented medical evidence to the WBO, explaining his inability to immediately return to training, and was granted the extension earlier this week. Now he will have to face Joseph Parker or Fabio Wardley, who will fight in London on October 25, or relinquish the WBO title.
