Santo Domingo – The Sports Writers Association of Santo Domingo (ACD) announced the 2025 edition of its prestigious gala “Excelencia Acedeísta, Athletes and Writers of the Year”. Américo Celado S., president of the institution, announced that the event will take place on Monday 15th of this month at noon, in the Terrance hall of the Sheraton hotel on George Washington Avenue. Celado S. detailed that the ceremony will honor the chroniclers and athletes who excelled in their respective areas during 2024.
Marcos Nivar and Paloma Almonte will be in charge of hosting the gala, which will once again feature production by the company FHM. The ACD will also recognize three outstanding members of the institution for their careers and a businessman for his support of sports.“On this occasion, 10 chroniclers and 8 athletes who achieved excellence in the performance of their professional and athletic functions respectively will be awarded, with the aim of trying to eliminate or minimize the complaints, disagreements and negative remarks generated by the previous format that nominated by lines, because everyone feels entitled to be considered or winners, creating controversies that make no sense, and that is not the purpose of our awards, which should be a celebration for all”, said the president.

- Radhamés González: Baseball narrator for his outstanding work in Dominican baseball with the Tigres del Licey and Estrellas Orientales, as well as in Major League broadcasts.
- Jorge Rolando Bauger: For his contribution to national soccer, including more than 40 years with his column “Soccer only Soccer” and his television program, in addition to his three books.
- Bienvenido Carmona: Journalist with more than 40 years of career in sports chronicle, recognized for his work as a reporter and columnist.
