New York – Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos won the men’s doubles championship at the US Open this Saturday, achieving their second Grand Slam title of the season after defeating Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski with a score of 3-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5.The team, seeded fifth, also took the French Open, also surpassing Salisbury and Skupski, giving this pair their first two major titles after losing in their first three finals.

The close final – Granollers and Zeballos had a 98-97 lead in total points – gave the winners their third Grand Slam victory over the number 6 pair, Salisbury and Skupski, this year. They also won a match in the Wimbledon quarter-finals.
