Thanasis Antetokounmpo Re-signs with the Bucks
Forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo has signed a new contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, the team announced on Sunday. This news ensures that the player will continue to share the court with his brother, two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Antetokounmpo, who missed the entire 2024-25 season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon, has agreed to a one-year contract for $2.9 million.
Currently, Thanasis is participating with the Greek national team in the EuroBasket.
In his last season with the Bucks, the 2023-24 season, Thanasis had little participation, playing 34 games off the bench and averaging less than one point per game. The 33-year-old player has been part of the team since 2019, but was out of the roster last season due to his injury.
In his career, Antetokounmpo averages 2.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 7.7 minutes in 198 regular season games.
Thanasis’s renewal comes after the Bucks and representatives of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Giorgios Panou and Alex Saratsis, planned to meet during the offseason to discuss future plans.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has played all 12 seasons of his NBA career with Milwaukee, averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game last season.
