Doncic and Antetokounmpo Shine at EuroBasket

Luka Doncic led Slovenia to victory with a triple-double, while Giannis Antetokounmpo returned with an outstanding performance for Greece in the EuroBasket. Doncic demonstrated his dominance by recording 26 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds, leading Slovenia to an 86-69 victory over Belgium. This triumph marked Slovenia’s first win in the tournament. Doncic’s outstanding performance not only secured his team’s victory, but also made him the youngest player to reach 400 points in the EuroBasket since Tony Parker in 2007.

In other results, Giannis Antetokounmpo returned strongly, scoring 27 points to help Greece maintain their perfect streak with a 94-53 victory over Georgia. Greece leads Group C and secured its place in the next phase of the tournament. Simone Fontecchio of Italy scored 39 points, breaking the individual scoring record for an Italian player in the EuroBasket. Spain, the defending champion, also had an outstanding performance by defeating Cyprus with a score of 91-47. The group stage of the tournament, which features 24 teams, is taking place in four different countries. The top four teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage in Riga, Latvia, from September 6th to 14th.
