Doncic and Antetokounmpo Shine at EuroBasket
Luka Doncic led Slovenia to victory over Belgium with a score of 86-69, achieving their first win in the EuroBasket. Giannis Antetokounmpo, on the other hand, returned with an outstanding performance, scoring 27 points to keep Greece undefeated after defeating Georgia with a resounding 94-53.
Doncic demonstrated his worth with 26 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds in Katowice, Poland. This achievement represents the fourth triple-double in the EuroBasket since 1995.
Furthermore, the Dallas Mavericks player became the youngest player to reach 400 points in the EuroBasket, surpassing Tony Parker.
After the defeats against Poland and France, despite Doncic’s notable performances, Slovenia will face Iceland on Tuesday in Group D.
The group stage, involving 24 teams, is taking place in four different countries. The top four teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage in Riga, Latvia, which will be held from September 6th to 14th.
Antetokounmpo, who did not participate in Greece’s victory over Cyprus on Saturday, after scoring 31 points against Italy, added 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals against Georgia.
Greece leads Group C with six points, awaiting the results of the remaining matches to secure their place in the round of 16.
France faced Israel, while Poland played against Iceland.
