Caitlin Clark nearing return to action with the Indiana Fever
The star of women’s basketball, Caitlin Clark, could be about to return to the courts with the Indiana Fever. Although she did not participate in Tuesday’s game against Seattle, her return seems imminent. According to coach Stephanie White, Clark, who was Rookie of the Year last season, participated in light training on Monday as part of her recovery process.White explained that Clark will need several practices to be ready to play. The point guard has missed 24 games this season due to muscle injuries, including the last 15 due to a right groin strain. In the 13 games she has played, Clark is averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, and 5.0 rebounds. Clark, who hasn’t played or practiced since July 15, participated in the pre-game warm-up on Sunday in Minnesota. After Tuesday’s game, the Indiana Fever have six games remaining in the regular season. The team is tied with Golden State in the fight for the last two playoff spots, one game ahead of the Los Angeles Sparks and half a game behind Seattle for the sixth spot. Clark’s popularity has driven attendance records and larger television audiences for the league. In addition, on Tuesday she became the new athlete of the Nike firm.“She participated yesterday,” White stated to reporters. “I want to see her in practice. In live practice. I want to see her continue to work not only to develop endurance, but also to be able to handle contact on the 94 feet as it would be in a game, and be able to do it and maintain it from an endurance standpoint.”

“There are very few people who have the opportunity to say they have a logo and to make the impact that she makes, not only in sports but worldwide, simply for being who she is,” White said. “She connects people. She unites people.”
