Chelsea is close to finalizing the signing of Alejandro Garnacho, after intensifying talks with Manchester United. Negotiations revolve around a transfer of 40 million pounds sterling (54 million dollars) for the Argentinian forward, according to sources close to the situation.
Garnacho, who was informed that he could leave United this summer, has not participated in the team since the end of last season. He was excluded from the pre-season tour in the United States to train with other teammates who are also not in the team’s plans.

While Rashford completed a one-season loan to Barcelona last month, United has failed to get rid of other players who are not in their plans. Garnacho rejected an offer from Bayern Munich earlier this month, making it clear that he only wanted to leave Old Trafford to join Chelsea.
The Stamford Bridge club had shown interest in signing Garnacho during the January transfer window, but the deal did not materialize.
