The new Cadillac F1 team has flatly denied rumors about the possible hiring of Christian Horner, the former Red Bull team principal, to be part of what will be the eleventh team on the Formula 1 grid next season. Horner was suddenly fired after the British Grand Prix last month, with no reason given for his dismissal. This decision ended a 20-year period that included eight F1 drivers’ titles and recent problems on and off the track for the team.

Recent reports claimed that Horner was going to join Cadillac, which will debut next season. However, Dan Towriss, CEO of the Cadillac Formula 1 team and TWG Motorsports, when announcing their driver lineup, which includes Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez, denied Horner’s hiring.

“There have been no conversations with Christian Horner. There are no plans for that. I would like to officially deny that rumor,” stated Towriss.

Christian Horner había sido vinculado con un puesto en Cadillac, que se convertirá en el undécimo equipo de F1 la próxima temporada.
Subsequently, Towriss praised Graeme Lowdon, the current director of the Cadillac team. “Our support for Graeme Lowdon’s management is 100%,” added Towriss. Horner had been team principal of Red Bull since they entered F1 as a full constructor in 2005. During his time with the team, Horner oversaw eight F1 drivers’ titles, four for Sebastian Vettel and four for Max Verstappen, as well as six constructors’ titles. But McLaren has dominated this season in F1, while Red Bull’s performance has declined, although current champion Verstappen is still third in the standings and the team is fourth.
