Vince McMahon Involved in Car Accident in Connecticut

Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon was involved in a traffic accident on a Connecticut road, according to official sources. The incident, which occurred on the Merritt Parkway, involved McMahon’s vehicle, a Bentley, and two other cars. McMahon was cited for reckless driving and for following another vehicle too closely. The police report details that the accident took place last Thursday morning in Westport. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. After the incident, McMahon was released on a $500 bond and ordered to appear before Stamford Superior Court on August 26. The images of the accident, taken by one of the people involved, Barbara Doran, show significant damage to the front of McMahon’s 2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed. Damage was also observed on the rear of Doran’s BMW 430. The police report indicates that McMahon was driving north on the highway, also known as Route 15, when he rear-ended the BMW and crashed into a wooden barrier. A car traveling in the southbound lanes hit debris from the crash that flew over the barrier. According to the police report, there were no passengers in any of the vehicles and all three drivers were wearing seatbelts. McMahon’s car airbags deployed, but not those of Doran’s BMW.
Vince McMahon's 2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed sustained heavy front-end damage from last week's multi-car highway crash in Connecticut.
Doran, a New York City resident, recounted that she was driving in the right lane when she was hit by McMahon’s vehicle. The impact caused her car to leave the road.

I was driving in the right lane and suddenly, boom. I was hit from behind and catapulted forward and you can see the tire marks where I was desperately trying to stay on the road.

Doran also indicated that a state police officer informed him that the other driver was McMahon, whom he did not know well. After the accident, they both talked.

He, you know, expressed concern, was glad I was okay and all that. And I thanked him for his concern.

McMahon stepped down as WWE CEO in 2022, amid an internal company investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. He also resigned as executive chairman of the board of directors of TKO Group Holdings, WWE’s parent company, last year, a day after a former WWE employee filed a lawsuit against him for sexual abuse. McMahon has denied the allegations. The lawsuit is still pending. In 1982, McMahon acquired what was then the World Wrestling Federation and transformed it from a regional wrestling company into a global phenomenon. In addition to running the company with his wife, Linda, who is now the U.S. Secretary of Education, he also performed at WWE events as himself.
