Amorim Confirms Onana’s Availability, But Doesn’t Guarantee His Starting Position Against Fulham

Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim has confirmed that André Onana is fit to face Fulham this Sunday. However, the coach has not assured that the Cameroonian goalkeeper will be a starter in the match. Onana, who missed the previous match due to a hamstring injury, is available to play. Amorim, in a press conference on Friday, did not want to confirm whether Onana will regain his place in the starting eleven.

“Onana is ready to play like last week, so we’ll see in the match who will be the goalkeeper,” Amorim stated.

Amorim also highlighted the difficulty of facing Fulham, praising their playing identity and experience in the league. “It’s going to be a difficult match,” he added. The United have been linked with Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens, although there is no indication that Onana will leave the club before the transfer deadline. The club’s priority in the last days of the market is to manage the departures of players who are not in Amorim’s plans. Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia are training separately from the main group.

“I know it’s not good to have players in this situation, but it’s clear they want to play for another club,” said Amorim. “So we try to arrange everything so that both parties are happy.”

Rasmus Hojlund is also available after Benjamin Sesko’s arrival. Amorim indicated that the forward has maintained a “professional” attitude despite not being included in the team against Arsenal. There is interest from Napoli, but an agreement has not yet been reached.
