Álvaro Morata Strengthens the Team in a Stellar Signing

Como has finalized the incorporation of the captain of the Spanish national team, Álvaro Morata, through an initial one-season loan agreement. The announcement was confirmed by both clubs this Tuesday. The agreement establishes an obligation for Como to formalize the permanent transfer next summer, as long as certain conditions are met.

I am very happy to arrive at Como. Last year, playing against them, I could appreciate the team and the project; it shows that there is a lot of ambition.

Morata’s loan to Galatasaray, coming from AC Milan, was scheduled until January 2026, but was cut short to facilitate his arrival at Como. Morata, 32 years old, joined the Turkish team in February, six months after signing a four-year contract with Milan, following his time at Atlético Madrid.

In an Instagram post, Morata thanked Galatasaray fans for their support, but accused the club of not fulfilling its contractual obligations.

There were times when the given word was not kept and respect for fundamental values was not upheld.

Morata scored six goals in 12 league matches, contributing to Galatasaray winning the Super Lig title. He becomes the sixth Spaniard in the Como squad and will be managed by his former Spanish national team teammate, Cesc Fàbregas.

I have known Álvaro for many years and have always admired his way of playing and his behavior. He is an intelligent forward who has performed in the most important moments and a teammate who lifts everyone around him. We are very happy to have him here in Como.

Cesc Fàbregas
Morata brings experience to a Como team that finished in tenth position in Serie A last season. Morata started his career at Real Madrid before moving to Juventus in 2014. He helped Madrid win the Champions League, LaLiga, and the Copa del Rey twice each, and Juventus to achieve two Serie A titles. He also had a stint in the Premier League at Chelsea.
