Tottenham and Arsenal in the Battle for Eberechi Eze
Tottenham Hotspur are considering competing with Arsenal for the signing of Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze, according to sources close to the situation.
The 27-year-old player has two years remaining on his contract, which originally included a release clause of £68 million ($92 million).
It is currently unclear whether that clause has expired, as it is expected to expire sometime in August, so the Spurs are working to understand the parameters of a possible deal.

The Arsenal have been following Eze for some time, but have so far shown no intention of paying the £68 million fee. Sources indicate that Arsenal ideally need to reduce their squad first before pursuing a deal for Eze, with Fabio Vieira, Reiss Nelson, Leandro Trossard and Oleksandr Zinchenko among the players available for transfer.
The Palace is reluctant to lose Eze, but his contract expires in 2027 and there are still no indications that the English international will sign a new contract to stay at Selhurst Park.

Eze played a key role in Palace’s triumph in the FA Cup at the end of last season and lifted the Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday.
He has scored 34 goals and contributed 23 assists in 146 Premier League appearances since joining Palace from Queen’s Park Rangers in 2020.
