The forward has signed a five-year contract with Atlético de Madrid, being his seventh addition to the first team this summer. Atlético seeks to improve its performance after finishing third in LaLiga in the 2024-25 season, being eliminated in the round of 16 of the Champions League and in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, as well as being left out of the group stage of the Club World Cup. The team led by Diego Simeone defeated Newcastle United 2-0 in their last pre-season friendly, played on Saturday at St. James’ Park. Raspadori debuted as a professional at Sassuolo before joining Napoli in 2022. During his time in Naples, he won two Serie A titles and was part of the Italian national team that won the 2020 European Championship.
