Eubank Jr. and Benn: Rematch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

The rematch between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn has been confirmed for November 15 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the UK, according to Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority and the Saudi Boxing Federation.

The first clash between Eubank Jr. and Benn took place on April 26, before an audience of 67,484 spectators. Eubank Jr. defeated his rival on points in an exciting fight, with all three judges awarding a score of 116-111 in his favor. Benn (23-1, 14 KOs), who moved up from 147 to 160 pounds to challenge Eubank Jr., felt he deserved the victory, but suffered the first defeat of his career.

A highlight before the fight was Eubank Jr.’s (35-3, 25 KOs) entrance into the arena with his father, with whom he has maintained a tense relationship for a long time. In an electrifying battle, Eubank Jr. was seriously affected by Benn in the eighth round, but regained his composure and took control to keep his family name undefeated against the Benns. The family rivalry dates back more than 35 years, when their fathers, Chris Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn, faced each other in a middleweight fight on November 18, 1990. Eubank Sr. won the WBO middleweight title by technical knockout in the ninth round. The intense rivalry of the fathers continued in their 1993 rematch, which ended in a split draw. Their children continued the dispute with the same intensity, but the Benn family currently has a record of 0-2-1 and will seek to obtain a victory later this year. The fight, which will be promoted by Sela, is expected to take place at 160 pounds.
