Alex Laferriere Secures His Future with the Kings with a Million-Dollar Contract

Forward Alex Laferriere has agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Kings on a three-year, $12.3 million contract, the team announced Saturday.

Laferriere, who was a restricted free agent this summer after his entry-level contract ended, thus secures his continuity with the Kings.

In his second season in the NHL, the 23-year-old player proved to be a consistent scorer, recording 19 goals and 23 assists last year. Generally, he played on the right wing alongside center Quinton Byfield and Kevin Fiala, both key figures in the young core of Los Angeles.

Selected in the third round of the 2020 draft, Laferriere has 31 goals and 34 assists in 158 games with the Kings.

With the signing of Laferriere, the new general manager of Los Angeles, Ken Holland, has resolved his most urgent contractual matters of this summer. Holland also expressed his interest in securing a long-term deal with Adrian Kempe, who is in the final season of his current contract.
