Leclerc Surprises with Pole in Hungary

Charles Leclerc, driving a Ferrari, secured a surprising pole position at the Hungarian Grand Prix. He surpassed Oscar Piastri, who achieved second place, and Lando Norris, who placed third on the starting grid. Leclerc set a time of 1:15.372, ahead of the championship leader, Piastri, by only 0.026 seconds in Q3. Norris, Piastri’s teammate at McLaren, was 0.015 seconds behind second place. Norris had set the best time in Q2 with a record of 1:14.980, but he couldn’t replicate that performance in Q3, when the weather conditions changed, with cloudy skies and a drop in track temperature.

Today I don’t understand anything in Formula 1. The whole classification has been extremely difficult. It was difficult for us to get to Q2, it was difficult for us to get to Q3… I knew that I only had to do a clean lap to aspire to third place and at the end of the day it’s pole position.

Honestly, I have no words, it’s probably one of the best pole positions I’ve had.
