Blackhawks Secure Arvid Soderblom with Contract Extension

The Chicago Blackhawks have secured the permanence of goaltender Arvid Soderblom with a two-year, $5.5 million contract extension, announced on Saturday. This agreement extends the relationship through the 2026-27 season, thus avoiding the arbitration process. Soderblom, 25, recorded a 10-18-7 record last season, with a 3.18 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage in 36 games, of which he started 33. Last season marked personal bests in both wins and games played for the goalkeeper. In his career with the Blackhawks, Soderblom has a record of 17-52-11, with an average of 3.55 goals against and a save percentage of .889 in 86 games played, starting in 77. The goalkeeper signed with Chicago in 2021 as an undrafted free agent.
