Andy Farrell Makes Key Changes for the Second Lions Test against Australia
British and Irish Lions coach Andy Farrell has made three significant changes to his starting team to face Australia in the second test, which will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Saturday. Bundee Aki, Ollie Chessum, and Andrew Porter enter the starting team, replacing Sione Tuipulotu, Joe McCarthy, and Ellis Genge, respectively. Farrell intended to make a further change, selecting Garry Ringrose instead of Huw Jones, but the Irish player had to withdraw due to a concussion suffered during training. The left pillar Genge is on the bench, while second row McCarthy and center Tuipulotu are out of the squad due to foot and hamstring injuries, respectively. Farrell has also made four changes to the replacements, with flanker Jac Morgan, second row James Ryan, fly-half/centre Owen Farrell and fullback Blair Kinghorn added to the team.“Garry was selected, but unfortunately in today’s training he had to withdraw,” said Farrell.

“Everyone saw the quality they have in Brisbane, and we know we’ll have to be much better than we were last week.” The Lions secured a dominant 27-19 victory in the first test in Brisbane.“We have put ourselves in a good position after the first test, but we know there will be a massive reaction from this Wallaby team,” said Farrell.
