Organizing Committee

The cup’s organizing committee is led by Carlos E. Jiménez, along with Ghensy de Jesús, Joel Rodríguez, Plácido Amador, Francisco Guerrero, Francisco M. Pérez, and Reinaldo Pujols. Eriol Gómez, a former director and childhood friend of Terrero, also participates. Jiménez highlighted the support of family and friends of “Pitu”, as well as the enthusiasm of the teams and players who are preparing to give their best in the competition.

Pitú, a legacy in the vitilla

The competition is held in memory of Wellington Terrero, who played in five of the first six seasons of the league. Terrero was champion in 2016 with the Inocentes de Bameso team and runner-up in 2017 with the Titanes de Villa Francisca. He stood out as one of the best pitchers in the league and a great promoter of organized vitilla. He passed away in 2023. In 2024, LIDOVI decided to honor his memory with this cup, with the support of his family and friends. In the first edition, the Halcones de Los Mina Viejo team was crowned champion, competing against more than twenty teams. For the second consecutive year, the event will be held between July and August, coinciding with the date of Terrero’s death anniversary, and serving as a prelude to the annual league championship, which takes place from September to November.
