Anadegas confirms continuity of card payments at fuel stations
The National Association of Gasoline Retailers (Anadegas) has reported that users will be able to continue using their credit and debit cards at all service stations in the country. This measure remains in effect as of this September 25th, after a consensus was reached that allows for the suspension of the strike call that was scheduled for this Friday.
The decision was made after noting the significant progress in the dialogue tables being held with the national banking sector, under the mediation of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM). The main objective of these conversations is to find an equitable solution to the retailers’ concerns regarding the commissions imposed by financial service providers.
Commitment to the sector and users
The Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, Yayo Sanz Lovatón, underscored the Dominican State’s commitment to guaranteeing stability in the fuel market. According to the official, the government maintains its focus on reaching agreements that allow the involved actors to operate under viable conditions, without affecting the quality of service received by citizens.
The Dominican government will continue working so that all sectors that interact in this market can have a viable solution, which allows them to continue working and continue providing service to Dominicans.

For his part, the president of Anadegas, Juan Elías Pérez, expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the negotiations and highlighted the joint effort made by the authorities to address this conflict.
After verifying that negotiations are very advanced with the national banks, we appreciate the President of the Republic’s commitment to finding a solution to this impasse we have regarding the high commission on credit cards.
Juan Elías Pérez, president of Anadegas.
Claim focused on operational efficiency
Anadegas reiterated that its position seeks a technical review of the operating costs associated with the use of electronic payment methods at its facilities. The entity also thanked the intervention of the director of Proconsumidor, Eddy Alcántara, whose work has been fundamental in establishing this new indefinite negotiation period, thus guaranteeing the peace of mind of Dominican consumers.
