The Second Criminal Chamber of the National District has decided to postpone the start of the trial against communicator Ángel Martínez, following the lawsuit filed by the Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful. The new date for the judicial process has been set for September 22nd.
The legal process arises from the accusations filed by Raful, who alleges that the communicator used digital platforms to issue statements that damage her honor, image, and reputation. According to the grounds of the file, Martínez’s conduct would constitute an alleged violation of articles 21 and 22 of Law 53-07 on High-Tech Crimes and Offenses, which regulates defamatory and injurious actions carried out through electronic means.
