Tragedy in Bogotá: Body of a minor found in a sewer in Ciudad Bolívar
A gruesome discovery shook the town of Ciudad Bolívar, in the south of Bogotá, this Tuesday, where Colombian authorities found the lifeless body of a minor inside a sewer. The incident was initially reported by members of the community through the 123 emergency line.
The commander of the Ciudad Bolívar Police Station, Carlos Torres, confirmed that the officers moved immediately to the scene after receiving the notice. Upon corroborating the presence of the corpse inside the water conduit, the agents proceeded to cordon off the area to preserve evidence and facilitate the work of the judicial teams.

The case has been taken over by the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Prosecutor’s Office, who are working in conjunction with the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences. The main objective of the authorities is twofold: to achieve the full identification of the victim and to clarify the exact causes of their death.
The authorities are keeping the investigation open and are seeking to establish how the minor reached the duct and whether there was any third-party involvement.
According to preliminary reports, the victim is estimated to be between 8 and 12 years old. Ciudad Bolívar, one of the most extensive and populated areas of the Colombian capital, is in deep shock over this event, which highlights the security challenges and social vulnerability faced by various sectors of the locality.
The police have intensified intelligence efforts and the collection of testimonies in the area to determine the precise circumstances surrounding this unfortunate loss, while a detailed official report from forensic entities is awaited.
