Death of U.S. citizen in Santo Domingo investigated as homicide
The National Police have reclassified the case of the disappearance of Andy Louissaint, a 47-year-old U.S. citizen of Haitian descent, following the discovery of his lifeless body at a bale business located in Buenos Aires de Herrera. The discovery of the corpse, which was hidden under a staircase and sealed with concrete, has triggered an in-depth investigation by the authorities.
Chronology of events
Louissaint was reported missing last Saturday, September 12. According to preliminary reports from the law enforcement agency, the victim had left his residence on Thursday, September 10, with the goal of meeting a person identified as Martínez at a shopping center, from where there was no further news regarding his whereabouts.

Detainees and progress in the investigation
As a result of intelligence work and coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the authorities have executed arrest warrants against two individuals linked to the incident:
- José Antonio Martínez Joseph, 41 years old.
- Juan Gabriel Marte Ramírez, 26 years old.
The discovery of the body occurred this Monday near noon, following a joint operation at the establishment known as Martínez Fashion, in which police officers, the Fire Department, and relief agencies participated. Following this event, the case file has been transferred to the National District homicide investigation unit, under the premise that the crime may have been perpetrated in said jurisdiction.
Current case status
Although various versions have emerged during the interrogations of the detainees, the police spokesperson emphasized that the motive for the crime has not yet been determined. The institution is in the phase of corroborating the statements through physical evidence and scientific expert reports.
Additionally, the authorities have proceeded to seize three vehicles and other evidentiary items that are being thoroughly analyzed. The investigation is ongoing, and Alofoke Deportes will follow up on any new elements that emerge to clarify this unfortunate event.
