On this occasion, leaders from the ruling party’s external sector have submitted a formal request to President Luis Abinader, urging that political projection spaces be expanded for the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña.
Samuel Abreu, coordinator of the party’s external sector, detailed that a commission delivered an official communication suggesting that the vice president dedicate at least two days a week—outside of her government duties—to hold strategic meetings with various sectors of national life.

The initiative presented seeks for Raquel Peña to strengthen ties with business leaders, representatives of civil society, and the grassroots membership of the PRM. The central objective of these approaches is to listen firsthand to the concerns and proposals of these groups, thus consolidating her profile in view of a potential presidential bid.
