Bernie Ecclestone, former head of Formula 1, has expressed his opinion on Christian Horner’s departure from Red Bull Racing. According to Ecclestone, Horner, who was abruptly fired after 20 years at the helm of the team, “had too much power” and “got away with things on many occasions”.
Horner’s departure, replaced by Laurent Mekies, occurred after years of internal tensions.
It would have been better if they had said: ‘Come, Christian, sit down’. But the conclusion is that there are people who thought he was getting away with it, who acted as if it wasn’t the Red Bull Ring, but the Christian Horner Ring.

Bernie Ecclestone (D) comenta la destitución de Christian Horner.Ecclestone pointed out that, while the results were favorable, many overlooked certain attitudes. However, when the results began to decline, the situation changed.
Ecclestone also mentioned that Horner was suggested to focus on team management, leaving the commercial part to others. Horner, on the other hand, saw himself as the chief executive, capable of encompassing everything from engineering to public relations.
Horner, in the past, was investigated and exonerated on two occasions for accusations of sexual misconduct, something that, according to Ecclestone, was a mistake.
Ecclestone added that Horner “was an idiot” and that “he thought he was 20 years old”.
Finally, Ecclestone expressed little sympathy for the person who filed the complaint.
