Contradictions in Lenin Núñez’s defense following the assault on Emmanuel Contreras
The legal team representing the family of Emmanuel Contreras Medina has issued strong statements questioning the public stance taken by the defense of Lenin Jhericop Núñez de León, the main defendant in the case of the brutal assault suffered by the young man. According to the plaintiff’s lawyers, there is an evident discrepancy between what is argued to the media and what was actually presented before the judge during the judicial hearing.
The family’s lawyer emphasized that, during the court proceedings, the defendant did not deny having used a bat to strike Contreras Medina. Likewise, he noted that Núñez de León also did not refute the fact that the Dominican authorities had maintained a search warrant against him since last July 3rd.
Discrepancies between the public and judicial versions
For the victim’s legal representation, it is questionable that the defense is attempting to position a different narrative before public opinion. “They did not dare to say before the judge the things they are saying here in the press,” the jurist stated, underscoring that the procedural reality of the case is more compromising for the accused than his defenders are trying to project.
