The Dominican Chocolate Festival highlights the excellence of local cocoa in its sixth edition
Santo Domingo becomes the epicenter of national cocoa with the celebration of the sixth edition of the Dominican Chocolate Festival. This event, which takes place from September 11 to 13 at the Ágora Mall facilities, seeks to highlight the quality and the artisanal process behind one of the most emblematic products of the Dominican Republic.
The fair brings together more than 18 renowned Dominican brands, which offer the public an exclusive showcase of their proposals. Attendees have the opportunity to explore various cocoa derivatives and learn firsthand about the production techniques that position the country as a global benchmark in the chocolate industry.
An educational and commercial experience
The festival program has been designed to integrate both entertainment and learning. Among the main activities are:
- Specialized tastings of different types of chocolate.
- Tastings open to the public.
- Cooking shows with experts in the field.
- Children’s workshops to learn about the cocoa cycle and its transformation.
The central objective of this edition is to boost the industrialization of the sector, strengthening the value chain and promoting the export of finished products under the quality seal that distinguishes Dominican cocoa in international markets.
Strategic alliances for the sector
The opening event featured a prominent institutional presence, including representatives from the European Union, the Embassy of India, and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM). These entities reaffirmed their commitment to the sustainable development of the local cocoa industry.
The organization of this meeting is the result of a joint effort between the Dominican Environmental Consortium, the International Trade Center, Ágora Mall, and Mediáticos Consultores en Comunicación, also counting on the support of various key players in the national productive sector.
