The Dominican Chocolate Festival celebrates its sixth edition in Santo Domingo
Santo Domingo becomes the epicenter of flavor and tradition with the sixth edition of the Dominican Chocolate Festival. The event, which takes place from September 11 to 13 at the Ágora Mall facilities, brings together the main exponents of the industry to pay tribute to the quality of local cocoa.
This edition stands out for its focus on promoting the industrialization of national cocoa. The main objective is to strengthen the value chain, encouraging the export of finished products instead of just raw materials, taking advantage of the prestige that our cocoa already possesses in international markets.
Experience and variety for cocoa lovers
More than 18 Dominican chocolate brands are participating in this edition, offering attendees a direct window into the artisanal and industrial production process. The program has been designed to provide a comprehensive experience that includes:
- Specialized tastings of various types of chocolate.
- Tastings of cocoa-derived products.
- Cooking shows with expert chefs.
- Educational and recreational activities aimed at children.
This festival is a fundamental platform to recognize the Dominican Association of Chocolate Makers (ADOCHOCO) and all the entrepreneurs who work day by day to raise the standards of our chocolate production.
A joint effort by the local industry
The inauguration of the event was attended by key figures from the business sector, representatives of the European Union, delegates from the Indian embassy, and authorities from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM). Collaboration between these sectors is vital for the sustained growth of the industry.
The organization of the event is the result of a strategic alliance between the Dominican Environmental Consortium, the International Trade Center, Ágora Mall, Mediáticos Consultores en Comunicación, and the MICM. Likewise, it has the fundamental support of entities such as Cortés Hermanos, Zorzal Cacao, the National Cocoa Commission, the Dominican Association of Chefs, and the Ministry of Agriculture.
The festival not only functions as a product showcase, but also as an essential meeting point where consumers can interact directly with chocolatiers, learning firsthand about the passion and effort behind every bar of Dominican chocolate.
