Apple revolutionizes the mobile market with the launch of the new iPhone Duo

John Ternus’ era at the helm of Apple has begun with a bold move: the launch of the iPhone Duo, the company’s first foldable device. Unveiled during the annual hardware event in Cupertino, California, this terminal seeks to redefine the user experience by combining portability and an expansive screen.

The device, which will hit the market at a price of $1,999, features a compact format when closed, similar to the size of a passport, with a 5.4-inch outer screen. When unfolded, the panel reaches 7.6 inches, becoming the iPhone with the largest screen manufactured to date.

A design focused on usability

During the presentation, Ternus emphasized that the main goal was to create a natural and intuitive experience, similar to that of an iPad, but with the versatility of a smartphone. The executive was emphatic in differentiating their proposal from other foldable models existing on the market:

Others have created foldable devices that simply look like two phones awkwardly joined together. The result is a square screen that is poorly suited to the way people use them. Scrolling through vertical content feels clunky and movies are boxed in between huge black bars.

The beginning of the John Ternus era

The event, which formally marked the handover of command from Tim Cook to John Ternus, served to establish the tech company’s priorities under its new leadership. Cook symbolically gave way to his successor, underscoring that the company is now entering a phase marked by advanced artificial intelligence and the diversification of its flagship hardware.

Ternus, who has a consolidated track record in the hardware engineering division, presented a vision where the iPhone is consolidated as the user’s intelligent personal core. This proposal is based on three fundamental pillars:

  • Constant innovation in hardware design.
  • Local data processing for greater efficiency.
  • An unwavering commitment to user privacy.

With this release, Apple not only responds to the demands of the foldable phone sector, but also attempts to set a new design standard that prioritizes visual fluidity and multimedia content optimization, distancing itself from current conventional solutions.
