2027 Caribbean Series: Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico to host new Kids and Teens categories
The Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC) has announced a historic step for the expansion of its brand. By the year 2027, the organization will integrate three levels of competition under a single identity, consolidating the LXIX Caribbean Series of League Champions, the IV Caribbean Kids Series, and the absolute debut of the I Caribbean Teens Series.
This decision, ratified by the CBPC Assembly during an extraordinary session, seeks to strengthen the development of baseball in the region from early ages to professionalism.
Confirmed venues for young talent
As part of this growth strategy, the Confederation has designated two key nations to host the future of Caribbean baseball:
- Dominican Republic: Will be the official venue for the IV Kids Caribbean Series.
- Puerto Rico: Will host the first edition of the Teens Caribbean Series, marking the historic debut of this category.
Although details regarding exact dates and specific stadiums will be revealed later, the CBPC is already working on a rotation plan for the venues of these categories, ensuring that all member countries have the opportunity to host in the future.
The incorporation of the Kids and Teens categories allows the Caribbean Series to transcend the professional realm, becoming a comprehensive platform to boost the development of baseball from childhood to adolescence.
A constantly evolving legacy
Since its birth in Havana in 1949, the Caribbean Series has been the ultimate benchmark for regional baseball. The recent Kids edition in Nayarit 2026 demonstrated the potential of this format, leaving impressive marks such as the first perfect game by Panamanian Alams Rodríguez and memorable offensive performances, including the outstanding participation of Dominican Isaac Brito.
