Boosting school sports: INEFI delivers equipment and repairs courts in 30 educational centers

The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) carried out a significant day of support for school sports this Tuesday, simultaneously impacting 30 educational centers located in Greater Santo Domingo and San Cristóbal. This initiative is part of the institution’s strategic plan to strengthen sports infrastructure and provide resources to students in the national public system.

The operation was led by the entity’s executive director, Alberto Rodríguez Mella, who traveled to the Max Henríquez Ureña Polytechnic, in Los Alcarrizos, to head the delivery of equipment and supervise the refurbishment work on the center’s courts. During the meeting, the official interacted with the educational community, highlighting the importance of maintaining dignified spaces for physical practice.

School sports and physical education are fundamental for comprehensive development. It is not just about providing equipment, but about creating the conditions for our children and youth to practice sports, develop discipline, strengthen their values, and discover talents that will proudly represent the Dominican Republic.

Commitment to Dominican youth

This day marks a precedent in the current management of INEFI, which has expressed its intention to replicate this intervention model in other provinces of the country. The main objective is to ensure that students have the necessary tools for their physical and mental development, fostering healthy competitiveness and general well-being from an early age.

With these actions, INEFI reaffirms its commitment to transforming the school environment, turning courts into centers of recreation and high-performance sports for Dominican youth.
